Christian Craighead spent 28 years in the British military's most elite units—the Parachute Regiment and 22 SAS—running more than 1,000 high-risk missions across Iraq and Afghanistan. But the mission that defines his public story wasn't one he was ordered into: in January 2019, off duty and living in Nairobi, Kenya, he heard gunfire over the phone from a friend and drove straight into a terrorist attack on the DusitD2 hotel complex, engaging Al-Shabaab-linked gunmen alone for roughly 22 hours until the siege ended. He was awarded Britain's Conspicuous Gallantry Cross and made an MBE for his actions. He retired from the British military in September 2020 and now lives in the United States. One Man In is his firsthand account of that day—and, as of this writing, the subject of an active and unresolved legal dispute with the UK government over his right to tell it.

Critics and fellow bestselling authors are calling it gripping, unflinching, and inspiring:
"This is the story we've all waited in anticipation to read. Christian stood alone against terror, facing an uncertain fate, and did the right thing when no one else could or would." — Johnny "Joey" Jones, #1 New York Times bestselling author
"An extraordinary book by an extraordinary man. In One Man In, readers will finally experience the hostage rescue that saved my life, in Christian's own words." — Meyli Chapin, DusitD2 survivor and author of Terrorist Attack Girl
"One Man In had me ready to run through a wall after the first chapter. It's a story of extraordinary leadership and bravery from a real-life superhero." — Tom Wilson, NHL player and Stanley Cup champion
"This is the rare, unflinching true story of one man who charged toward evil not for glory, but because human beings desperately needed leadership, protection, and someone willing to stand in the gap." — Gina Carano
