Caro Claire Burke holds an MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars and co-hosts the politics and culture podcast Diabolical Lies. Yesteryear is her debut novel; she has built a large social media following for her commentary on "tradwife" culture, feminism, and online identity, and film rights to the book have been acquired by Amazon MGM Studios, with Anne Hathaway attached to star and produce.
-
Pre-release readers are calling it wicked, addictive, and unnerving:
Early readers describe Yesteryear as wicked, addictive, and unnerving.
"I could not put this down — I read it in two sittings."
"Equal parts hilarious and horrifying, sometimes on the same page."
"The kind of book club pick that turns into a two-hour argument."
This book is for you if:
You love a sharp, funny satire that skewers influencers and “tradwife” lifestyle.
You want a narrator who is kinda bitchy, vain, and self-absorbed — yet somehow you like rooting for her.
You’re drawn to genre-blending fiction that mixes psychological suspense and social commentary.
You want a page-turner premise (is it a hoax? a time slip? a nightmare?) that keeps you guessing until the end.
You like reading buzzy debuts early — this one is already a #1 New York Times bestseller, a GMA Book Club pick, and in development as a film starring Anne Hathaway.
Trove is different.
We rent new books.

-
Renting from Trove lets you read a new hardcover without paying the full purchase price upfront. Choose Rent New, read the book for up to 30 days per copy, then return it or keep it. If you keep it, the remaining balance applies as if you bought it outright.
-
Yes! Trove offers new hardcover books for rent or purchase. Renting gives readers access to new releases at a lower upfront price than buying the hardcover outright.
-
You own it! If you rent a book and decide you want to keep it, the remaining purchase balance will apply. No action is needed.
This lets you start with the rental price and only pay the rest if you feel the book belongs on your shelf.
-
Each rental copy is kept for 30 days, with a maximum of 90 days. When your rental period ends, simply return the book using the return instructions included with your order. The book should be returned in very good condition so another reader can enjoy it!

Trove is based in Washington, D.C., but we ship anywhere within the United States! Each shipping option and costs are shown at checkout before you place your order.
